the distance that seperates us

Lost

Jin can always find where Mito is when she’s lost.

Mito used to get lost searching for him.

She would first look for him around the house, then in the neighbor’s yard, after that in the town streets. When she couldn’t find him, she would search for him in the forest, where the animals and shadows roamed.

It didn’t take too long for her to grow scared - scared and lost. She was no longer knew whereto exit or where to go forward. Instead, she waited.

Jin always found her.

“Mito,” he asked. “You were searching for me?”

She nodded. He would pick her up then, like a prince picked up a princess, and carried her out of the forest. She clung onto him, asking him to make sure he’d never leave her.

He never did make any promises.
