Love and Jealousy: An Unforgotten Legend

I stay frozen
As I hear him neglect me
I don't dare to move
In fear that reality would rush
Straight into me.

Tears form in my eyes
As I beg them to stop
I scream in agonizing pain
Yet the only thing that comes out of my mouth
Is a whisper.

His eyes are cold
Making my spine shiver
I wonder what ever happened
To the warmth that was once in them
Which was replaced by coldness.

I finally have the courage to speak up
Only to be attacked by more brutal words
That aches my heart
As I remained silent
Once more.

He continues on
As I try to cover my ears
Not wanting to listen to his cruel words
Yet I heard too much already
As I feel my heart breaking piece by piece.

I could remember once
In a sweet memory
He would say sweet words to me
Never daring to hurt me
As he did now.

He leaves me
As I stand alone
Speechless
Knowing that if I do speak
That I would just end up crying.

My heart lays shattered and limp on the ground

Chapter 6

        Her eyes opened slowly, one by one, as she looked
around her.  Her mouth went dry.  There she was, in a
beautiful field of flowers.  The sun rising slowly, shedding
it's light and warmth around her.  She looked around her,
certain at where she was.

        Earth.

        A smile was brought to her face.  "Thank you Uncle
Cronos."   She stated simply, getting herself off from the
ground.  She took a deep breath of the aroma of flowers around
her, as the heavy scent filled her lungs.

        The sun shown with brightness as the rain had ceased
for the first time.

*       *       *       *       *       *       *

        Endymion closed his eyes.  'Why didn't she tell me?
Why didn't she tell me!  She should have told me.  And then I
wouldn't have fell in love with her if I knew that it wouldn't
be!'

        The truth was the exact opposite.  He would have still
fallen in love with her.  He wouldn't have cared.  He had
fallen in love with he the first time he saw her.  Her blue
eyes that shone with beauty and her gorgeous hair that was
richer than gold.

        He didn't want to think so anyways.  Whatever made the
pain and hurt disappear from his soul.  Even if it meant
hating HER.  But as much as he tried he couldn't.  He just
couldn't hate her.  He still loved her.  With all his might
and soul.

        Love, the thing that brought him close to insanity.
Why had fate been so cruel to them?  Why can't he be with her?
He had loved her with all his might, even though it was one
day, and she knew that he had loved her too.  He knew because
of the way she ran out when she supposedly heard Beryl's
confession of love to him, and thinking that he had loved him
too.

        He looked out the window, as he notice the skies were
cleared and the sun shone brightly.  It wasn't gloomy anymore.
No more rain fell.  He should have rejoiced.  But how could
he have rejoiced when she was still not in his arms.

        He closed the curtains and continued to wallow in his
depression and pain.  As he remembered what he mother had told
him to consider awhile ago.  To marry Beryl... Her father had
asked the queen if he would be willing to corporate.  And
Queen Gaia saw that since he was a well known a respected
lord, with such a charming daughter, that she agreed.

Usa: Charming?  More like deadly...

        'Why did I think that she would ever come back to me?'
He thought, his eyes narrowing down to his hands.  'Why did I
believe that there was a future for us?  I am just so
foolish!'  He thought so bitterly as he then came to a
conclusion.

        He'll marry Beryl.

*       *       *       *       *       *       *

        Serenity walked along the dirt path, as she headed
towards one direction - to Endymion.  She didn't know where
that was, but she knew that if she continued to walk, she will
find him, somehow.  A feeling that she had.  She took another
deep breath, enjoying the sweet aroma of the plants.  She
looked angelic by the way the wind blew lightly with the
blazing sun, making her hair ruffle lightly.  Her eyes closed
peacefully.

        Was she going to stay down on earth forever?  She
asked herself.  Even though she loved it on earth, she knew it
wasn't her place.  Doubts then began to fill her mind.  Could
she bring Endymion up to the heavens above?   It was too
dangerous.  She didn't want him to get her.  Everything began
to get so confusing as she sat against the tree in deep
though.

        Why didn't she think of all this before?  She thought
bitterly.  She must have been too selfish, wanting to be with
him.  She had caused disaster down on earth, and now she
wanted to bring him up in the heavens above too?  How would
she know that he would give up everything for her.

        She was just so stupid to think that it would work
out.  She was a water sprite, he was a terran.  There would be
no future for them to be together!  "It'd be just like my
parents!"  She said, as she knew that she couldn't bare for
him to be put in eternal sleep like her father.

        Tears began to stream down her face as she thought why
did she come back when she wasn't able to get what she wanted?
What she thrived for?

        Endymion.

*       *       *       *       *       *       *

        "How wonderful that you have agreed to do so
Endymion."  Queen Gaia said to her son.  Her eyes twinkled
with happiness.  "I do hope you happiness.  I just wish that
your father was here to hear the wonderful news, but instead
he is on that trip.  Beryl would be so happy to hear the
wonderful news."  She beamed at him as he forced a smile on
his lips.

        "I know mother."  He replied back quietly.  Just then
Raye appeared in, her mouth gapping widely.

        "You're marring BERYL?!  That whore!  You could do
better and whatever happened to you saying that Serenity was
your one and only and that you'll FIND her wherever she went!"
She exclaimed, as Queen Gaia glared at her angrily but Raye
didn't notice and continued on.  "Did you know that she did
LOVE you.  I could see it in her eyes when she left.  I saw
how she glanced at you.  She doesn't mean to be like she is.
I can't believe that you are doing this to her!"

        Endymion's hand then slapped Raye across the face as
she placed her hand where he had hit her.  Her eyes became red
and tears began to fall as she couldn't ignore the stinging
pain of her cheek.  Queen Gaia gaped at this.

        "Don't you tell me what I am doing is hurting her.
You don't know how much she had hurt me!  She, love me??  NO.
If she loved me, she wouldn't have left me.  She would be
there for me.  But she left me.  She LEFT ME.  I waited for
her all these days, all these weeks, and there has been NO
sign of her.  She hasn't come back and tried to explain to me
everything.  She didn't come back and tell me that she loved
me.  How can you say that she loves me?"

        Raye was silent, her eyes still filled with tears as
she glared at him.  "Because she does and you know it.  You
are just denying it because YOU want her NOT to love you so
that you wouldn't have to live with knowing that she might
never come back.  Endymion.... I hate you...." She told him,
as she ran out of the throne room, with Endymion staring at
her from behind.

        "Endymion Mamoru Chiba."  Queen Gaia said sternly, as
Endymion turned to see his mother stare at him with a
disappointed look on her face.  "Why are you agreeing to marry
Beryl if you are in love with someone else?"

        "Mother, I just can't explain.  But I know she won't
come back.  She won't come back for me.  Just tell Beryl yes.
I'll marry her."  Endymion replied back and began to stalk
out of the room.

        "But Endymion..."  She called out but it was too late.
She sighed and rubbed her temples, her head banging.  "I have
the worse headache right now...."

*       *       *       *       *       *       *

        Raye stormed out of the palace, still mad at her
brother for slapping her.  "I can't believe he slapped me....
SLAP me..." She said, her hand touching her aching cheek.  "He
had never done such a thing to me..."

        She continued to run, as she found herself in the
forest.  She sighed as she began to slow her pace, not wanting
to be too far from the palace.  She walked slowly, enjoying
the scenery.  The beautiful trees stood strong as they rustled
against the rind lightly making a soothing sound.  She
remembered when she was small, she would go with Endymion and
sneak out of the care of the guards and would roam in the
forest.  They would discover many things.  She missed her
brother... her old brother, the one that cared about her, the
one that emotion's wasn't frozen so much.  What happened to
him?

        She looked up from the ground and discovered a girl
sitting against the tree crying.  'How odd...'  Raye thought,
as she began to walk up the girl, wanting to help her.  'Her
aura is so strong...' Raye said, as she could sense it with
her powers that she inherited from her father.

        "Excuse me miss, are you okay?"  She asked, as the
girl then looked up.  Raye gasp as she saw the girl's face.

        "SERENITY?!"

*       *       *       *       *       *       *

        Beryl beamed as she heard her father announced the
news to her.  She was engaged to Endymion. Endymion!  Her
heart jumped happily.  Endymion was finally hers.  All hers.
She was so happy about that. A smirk appeared on her lips as
she thought about Serenity.

        "That stupid water sprite.  And she thought for a
second that she could have MY Endymion, she was wrong.  He is
mine... all mine... I wish I could see her face right now to
see how she reacts.  Yes, I want to know what she thinks about
Endymion being mine and not hers.  He will NEVER be hers!"
She laughed at that.

        She looked at her closet, trying to pick out a perfect
outfit to come see Endymion at.  "Hmm... the red one or the
maroon one?"  Seeing that the maroon one was more ::ahem::
revealing*, she put back the red dress in her closet and began
to change into it.

*it's suppose to be slutty... but thought it was not
appropriate to write it....

*       *       *       *       *       *       *

        "Serenity?"  Raye repeated more calmly.  Serenity
looked at her in surprise.

        "Raye?"

        "SERE!  I am SOOO glad to see you!!"  Raye then
embraced her friend with loving arms.  "I missed you much."

        "I missed you too Raye."  Serenity replied.  Raye eyes
sparkled as Serenity continued on, "How's Endymion doing?"
Raye's face then fell.  As her mind began to be filled with
many questions.

        "Endymion..."

        "He is okay isn't he?"  Serenity asked worriedly.
Raye looked away from her.  "Is he?"  Serenity asked again.

        "He is doing fine Serenity.  His health is perfect."
Raye replied back truthfully.  Serenity let out a sigh of
relief but she knew it wasn't over yet.

        "Then what is it?"

        "Sere, I don't know how to say this to you."  Raye
began and took a deep breath, "You see, Endymion....
Endymion.... Endymion's engaged to Beryl...."

        Serenity's breath then became shallow.  "He... he was
forced into the engagement wasn't he?  He could always break
it... couldn't he?"  Serenity said with a gulp.  Her eyes
looked at Raye widely pleaded for her to agree.

        "Sere... Serenity... he chose to be engaged with
Beryl.  He wasn't forced into it, he choose to accept."
Serenity's blood ran cold as she blinked back the hated tears
that threatened to fall down her face once more.  "I'm sorry
Sere... I tried to tell him...."

        Serenity's eyes closed in pain.  "I shouldn't have
come back.  I shouldn't have...." She said under her breath.
Pain overflowed her body - more so then it ever had, even when
she was forced into leaving earth... leaving Endymion.
Because now, it wasn't because of destiny that broke them
apart, it was because that they weren't destined to be
together.......

        "To think my heart couldn't hurt more than it did when
I was torn apart from Endymion.  I was wrong."  Serenity said
to Raye, as she lifted her head up with tears streaming down
her face.  "I was terribly wrong."

*       *       *       *       *       *       *

        Endymion could feel the guilt get to him.  He shouldn't
have slapped her.  That was just wrong.  He and Raye have
always been closer than night and day, and he SLAPPED her?  What
the hell is wrong with him?  His mother had just told him that
Beryl was going to come here soon.  That surprised him that she
found out so quickly, but he didn't care much.  He didn't want to
care at all.

        "Because she does and you know it.  You
are just denying it because YOU want her NOT to love you so
that you wouldn't have to live with knowing that she might
never come back.  Endymion.... I hate you...."  Raye's
voice could be recalled in his head.

        Those words stung.  He didn't want her to hate him.  He
was just angry.  But it was true though.  He didn't want to
think that she deserted him even though he was so in love with
her.  He wanted to let go of her, yet all he could really do
was hold onto her more so.

        He then stood up from his bed, and grabbed his coat.
He was off to find Raye and apologize for everything and hope
that she would be forgiving.

*       *       *       *       *       *       *

        "I was so foolish!  I came back for him.  I came back
for HIM!  And he comes and loves someone else..." Serenity said
heartbroken.  Tears streaming like an endless river.  "It hurts
so much Raye..."

        "Sere..."

        "I wanted to stay, but how can I ignore my destiny?
My fate?  I can't just ignore it.  I have to fulfill it.  I have
to protect earth.  It isn't just all fun and joy... it's just
a place filled with vast loneliness..." She said to her, her heart
breaking.  "But it was still my home.  Where I belonged.

        "Cronos had let me have a second chance down on earth, to
find Endymion and tell him everything and how much I DO love him,
but what happens?  He is in love with someone else!"

        "Just cause he is engaged to Beryl, doesn't mean he is in
love with her."  Raye stated to her.  Serenity just shook her
head no.

        "But he still agreed to.  It means he at least has SOME
feelings towards her..." Serenity said, as she broke into tears.
"How come love hurts so much?"

*       *       *       *       *       *       *

        Beryl hurried to the palace, her hair put all up as her
dress clung to her tightly, showing a more than decent amount
of her chest.  The dress had come up to her high thigh and
she wore high shoes.

        The guards let her in as she quickened her pace.  She
couldn't wait for Endymion to see her in THIS outfit.  One of
Endymion's guards, Jedite, came up to Beryl.

        "I'm sorry Lady Beryl, but it turns out that Endymion
isn't here right now.  He went to look for Raye."  Jedite told
her as her eyes became from sweet and seductive to pure evil
in a heartbeat.

        "What do you MEAN HE LEFT TO FIND RAYE!!  I SHOULD BE
MORE IMPORTANT THAN HER!!"  She said coldly.  Jedite wanted
to slap her for making those comment but strained himself back.

        "I'm sorry, but I don't think Endymion had thought that."
Jedite said, as he watched Beryl fume and stomp away, apparently
very angry.  He smiled at that.

*       *       *       *       *       *       *

        Endymion walked slowly, as if knowing where she might
be.  It was easy for him to find her because of the link
that they share together.

        He found her, talking to a blond as he called out her
name.  "Raye!"

        Raye turned her head in surprise as Endymion jogged up
to where she stood.  He didn't look at the blond whom tried
to walk away but as she did, her star locket fell from her
pockets and landed opened on the ground, as it's beautiful
melody played enchantingly.

        Endymion turned his head quickly as he saw the blond stare
at the fallen locket and at him.  She quickly picked it up as
he breathes out one word.

        "Serenity."

        His voice was filled with compassion, filled with love.
'How could his voice be filled with love?  He mustn't love me
if he chose to be engaged to Beryl.'  She thought, as she
stared at him unable to speak to him.

        "Serenity..."

        Raye then looked at the two, understanding why Serenity
was acting as she was.  "Leave her alone Endymion, don't you
think you hurt HER enough?"  Raye said defending her silent
friend.

        "Hurt?  How have I hurt her?"

        "She knows that you are marrying Beryl.  I told you not
to but you wouldn't listen to me."  Raye dejected back to him.
He looked at Serenity, whom head was to the ground, not
wanting to look in his eyes.  He knew that she was right.

        "See Endymion?  She has come back.  She came back for
you.  You!  I don't see why though.  Why would one come back for
YOU!"  Raye said angrily.

        "I don't know... Raye, why are you so mad?"  He asked her.
Raye just stared at him.

        "I am MAD because YOU are my BROTHER!"  She said harshly.
She wanted to take back those words but she knew she couldn't.
Endymion's eyes filled with hurt as he covered it up quickly.

        "Well Raye, fine THEN."  He said icily.

        "You know w-"

        "Can you two just STOP BICKERING?  I AM JUST GOING
TO LEAVE.  It's not like I belong here.  There is no one here
for me..." Serenity spoke up, suprising the both of them.

        She turned away as Endymion then grabbed her hand.  "No,
Serenity, there is someone here for you.  There's me."

        With that he pressed his lips on hers and savored the
moment.  To his surprise, she kissed him back with all his might
as the lake next to them glittered with sunlight.

*       *       *       *       *       *       *

        Beryl looked at them with hatred.  "How CAN HE?!  He is
suppose to be engaged with ME!  I can't believe that GIRL!!!"
Jealousy filled her as her eyes became dark.

        A whole transformation began on her as jealousy corrupted
her whole soul and changed her into a monster.

*       *       *       *       *       *       *

        Wow!  Can't believe I wrote that by myself!  Well,
I think there should only be around one or two more chapters
left, yay!  Gomen if it's shorter than usual, it's just that
it's usually easier with Jade and her details that she writes
in it.... yep yep!  Let's just hope I don't have to write anymore
by myself... booo...  Well, send me your comments please!!!  And
Jade, hope you know that it would be nice if you helped next time...
