His arm wrapped around Serenity fiercely, curling his fingers around her slim waist, while at the same moment he looked into her eyes; eyes that were filled with the soft, warm glow that signaled love to all that dared look. His heart nearly burst with happiness at the thought; love for him. Only him. He was content with that, knowing that she had felt this emotion to him. "I love you." He said with passion as he kissed her forehead gently, careful to savor every moment with his beloved. He had no idea why he should, but he knew that he had to, and did so easily as he reveled in the glory of it. He tugged her away with him gently, and she went without protest, snuggling against his side, unaware of the eyes that tracked their progress across the soft lawn of the gardens. 'How could he?' She silently raged, standing in the shadows as they walked by, blissfully unaware of her presence. 'How could he!' Her mind screamed, jealousy whipping through her mind. 'Can't he see _my_ love? How could he choose her over me?' Her hair rose upon the wind as her anger took on a more physical form, swirling about, and her face was twisted in rectums of indescribable fury. She stood stock still for several moments, glowing faintly, though it went unnoticed, and then, quite suddenly, something clicked in her mind. The wrong conclusion of course, but explanation enough for her heart, which was too blinded by pain and petty jealousy to see past any of it. 'She must have put a Love Spell on him. That damn Water Sprite.' It was written in the Ancient Texts of Magic, that the only way to destroy a Love Spell was to kill or permanently incapacitate the caster of the spell. It would not be easy this time round, considering who her rival was, but she could do it. She would. It wasn't the first time she had killed, after all. A bitter, malicious smile, twisted her lips, and sharp fangs glistened in the pale light of the Heavens. "So, the only way to get Endymion is to kill Serenity." She spoke the words aloud, and they focused her in a way nothing else had, as if by naming her enemy, she was declaring her purpose, and indeed she was. The name of the Sprite as she spoke it was so filled with hate, that even if she had not spoken the other words, her intent would have been clear. She was going to kill Serenity if it was the last thing she ever did. And if it came to that, she would make sure to take the Sprite with her into the next world. ~~~ "...am I not good enough?" - Seiya Love and Jealousy: An Unforgotten Legend By: Eternal Angel and Jade Chapter 7 I told myself not to think of you I was just wasting my time I told myself that you would never Never Feel this way for me I was just not your type I told myself I shouldn't be so foolish You weren't the only person Out there that I can love I told myself that tomorrow I won't feel a thing When I look into your eyes And now tomorrow is today As I see you again Raising my head up to meet your eyes I find out that I fell in love with you again ~~~ Serenity buried her head into Endymion's chest, giving a soft sigh of contentment. Something mingled at the back of her mind, but she pushed it firmly away, preferring her beloveds embrace to the cold reality awaiting them. He voice brought her back from her fantasy world that consisted of the two of them only, however. "I love you." He whispered softly in her ear, as if not able to say it enough times, and she agreed with that. She couldn't hear it enough times either. Then the uncertain feeling came back and something occurred to her that she had managed to ignore up until this point. She wish the nagging voice in back of her mind would stop it, but it only banged louder as she looked up at him, her long lashes fluttering together and apart. "What about your engagement?" She asked him, her eyes telegraphing her worry. "We can't be together..." The words hurt, more than death ever could, but it was true. If he was already engaged, how was it that they could be together in even the smallest way? Beryl would never allow her within ten feet of Endymion, and she knew as Prince, there was no way the engagement could be broken. The engagement had been final, and there was now no turning back. The only way to break the engagement was death. She began to pull away, once again near tears at the thought of the future. She'd wanted so much to be with him.... before she could run; he pulled her back, wrapping his arms around her in a bone-crushing hug. She was shocked by his action as she looked at him, tears welling in her eyes. "Iie! Don't you ever say that again!! I never want to hear you say that!! Can you stop thinking about everything else for one and think about what _you_ want?" Endymion demanded, then softened both his words and his eyes with a soft, tender kiss on her mouth. She swayed, folding into his embrace again, and he heard her whisper softly, "What I want has never mattered before now. You have to give me time; for thousands of years I have lived only to serve the people of this universe and bow to *their* wishes, *their* lives. Suddenly everything is so different, and it is going to take me a long, long time before I can get used to it." His heart soared. Get used to it? So she meant to stay! She was really going to stay with him.... he resisted the urge to swing her around in circles; afraid he'd hurt her (she was such a delicate creature). All of his dreams were coming true, and he gave her a fervent kiss that told all, and nothing, about the true joy in his heart and soul. His heart dance within his rib cage and he kissed her again. They were unaware of the presence of an audience. "How romantic..." Mina sighed softly from her position next to the far bushes, to the couples' right. The two paused in surprise, both of them blinking, and then disengaged, blushing bright red as they noticed they had an audience. They all laughed. It was a wonderfully perfect moment. "Awe! Mina, look what you did, it was getting good too." Amy whined, and nine faces turned towards her, explicate shock pasted across their faces. The girl in question blushed even darker than Serenity and Endymion combined and hid her face in Zoisite's vest. He laughed good-naturedly and put an arm around her, content. "I'm so happy you're back!!" Lita exclaimed, and then drew the surprised girl into a group hug while the men watched in amusement. Small 'eep's', and the occasional yelp could be heard from inside the melee. The generals smiled at Endymion, ecstatic to see their prince actually *smiling* after all that had happened. "Come on, we're celebrating! A picnic to mark the return of our friend!" Serenity blushed prettily, and giggled, hiding shyly behind her prince. "Whoa, you guys think of everything, ne?" Endymion asked with a blinding smile as they set off for the place where they'd had their first picnic with the youngling Water Sprite. The others nodded cheerful affirmations as they marched along, and soon they arrived at the spot, gazing about in pleasure as the moonlight caressed each individual flower and blade of grass. After they settled in, Lita began to take the food out from the basket. "Hope you like it.... I made it myself." Her smile was echoed on everyone else's. They all knew no one could resist Lita's cooking. Serenity blinked, suddenly realizing how much had been prepared in so little time. "Ahh... well, we weren't kissing that long were we? I mean, all you guys coming here, Lita making a picnic...." Serenity faltered, blushing again, then stumbled to a halt. Endymion chuckled. The others all grinned. "Well, yeah. But really, we planed this around a week ago to get Endy out of his blues." Jedite reassured her. Serenity nodded, her ears still a light pink. "Come on, let's dig in." Nephlite "Hmm. I haven't eaten since, well... our last picnic." Serenity commented as she leaned against Endymion. She took a bite of her sandwich. "Starvation and me simply don't mix." She giggled as she grabbed another sandwich. Soon that one disappeared from her hand as she grabbed another one. "Wow..." Zoycite said, as he watched Serenity reaching for her fifth sandwich. "Good think Lita made enough food for an army." Serenity turned dark red as Endymion kissed her cheek. "Go on and eat, I'll love you even if you do get fat." Serenity bonked him on the head with her sandwich. "I have you know that even if I do eat everything on this planet, I wouldn't gain a single pound." "How?" Mina asked, eagerly leaning forward. Serenity smiled slowly and waggled her fingers in an exaggerated motion. "Magic." The girl sat back, disappointed, but laughing. "Wow... is that all you can do?" Jedite snickered, then paused, nervous, as a strange grin flickered across her face, and an evil twinkle began to shine in her eyes. "No, I can do this." She snapped her fingers, laughing even before the move had been finished, and there was a flash of light as Jadeite disappeared, then reappeared, still dressed in a Guardian's uniform, still sitting in the same place, but with long blond hair now, a softer face, ill-fitting pants and boots... and very obvious female attributes. Shocked gasps, then out-right laughter circled him, while he looked on confused, then glanced down at himself and nearly fainted. "WHAT? Ahh... Serenity, change me back... please.... I won't ever make fun of you ever again!" The laughter only increased, and by now tears were running down more than one face "Hmm, when I get mad at you, all I have to do is ask Sere for revenge..." Raye said, snickering in delight. He... *she* glared at her, clearly offended, and opened his mouth to reply. Before he could comment Serenity waved a hand, and the holographic illusion disappeared. It wouldn't have done to turn Jadeite into a real girl. That kind of magic took longer to do... and a lot longer to reverse. She nearly burst out laughing at his expression if she told him he'd have to remain a girl the rest of his life, but managed to control herself in time. "How'd you do that?" Jadeite sputtered, quickly patting him down, sighing in relief, and then shooting her a look full of daggers. She just waggled her eyebrows at him and waved a hand again, which he instinctively ducked, flailing his arms to avoid any other spells she might feel inclined to cast. "Magic." He groaned. The continued mirth cut off abruptly as a tingling feeling began in the bases of both Raye, and Serenity's skills, and both jumped to their feet, all senses on alert. "Can you feel that?" "Evil." Serenity replied, searching the ground around her for signs of threat while she felt her love stand behind her, guarding her back and flank against any sort of attack. It came too quickly for him to track however, and she barely managed to teleport out of the way in time to avoid the slashing claws of Demons Spawn. Evil, yes. That much she could sense, but something else as well.... She rematerialized not five feet away from her previous position. "Serenity..." The monster breathed out, it's eyes glowing with hatred. "I came for what is mine... I came for Endymion." Serenity whispered one name that shook the others to the core. "Beryl." ~~~ From the moon, Selene looked down at the earth. 'Oh Serenity, it's the time for you battle for love. Don't lose this battle like I have so long ago.' She looked up towards the shimmering stars above. Closing her eyes, she prayed for her child. "Zeus, my father, please watch over your granddaughter." The star shimmered brightly in the dark vast sky. ~~~ "Beryl..." Serenity whispered. "How... what?" The beautiful Sprite stared at the monstrous figure that looked like a snake. Her eyes were blood shot and full of hate. She couldn't believe how much she had changed. 'How...?' she wondered again, silently. The dark energy around her was inevitable, as it seemed to blanket her thickly. Her evil laughed began to rise from her throat as it made them all shudder. "Serenity," she said out darkly as her eyes directed at her causing a chill to run though her. "Did you think I would fall into this façade that you place in front of me? Did you think I would know that Endymion would just not love me like that? I remember, five years ago when I first saw him, it was destiny!!" She looked at Endymion, her eyes seemed to soften, "But then, you prance around. Using your evil 'magic' and made him drift away from me!! It's your fault that he doesn't love me. You and your spells. It's your fault... *your* fault!!" With that anger traveled through her veins. Endymion spoke up, trying to coax her, "Iie, it isn't her fault Beryl. I was never in love with you. Sorry if I miss led you, but I was always in love with Serenity. She's *the one* that I have been waiting for. She's the only one I'll *ever* love. Onegai Beryl, understand that. I always thought that you were one of those girls that just passed by." "Liar!! Look what has happened to you!! She poisoned your mind!! Look what she is doing to you, making you say all these lies!!" Her voice was frantic, as the tone of her voice changed. It became soft more understanding as she said, "Don't worry though, I'll get rid of her. I won't let her mess out future together. I'll get ride of her for you... for *us*." Serenity couldn't help but feel bad for this. All this had happened because of her. 'Why did love have to be so hard and hurtful?' But she recalled what her mother had told her once, "There is always a hardship in a relationship that will show you how strong your love is. At the end, if you are able to withstand this hardship, you will live happily ever after with the one you love. And now, today, this was her test. This was destiny's way of showing how valuable and deep that her love for Endymion was. She turned to look at Endymion, as his eyes looked deep into her, as she felt, in this moment of confusing and fear, content and happiness that at least he was with her. Beryl's voice then interrupted her thoughts with something she didn't think of yet, "My my, aren't there so many people here today." Serenity looked around. She was right. There were a lot of people enjoying the first beautiful day since of the days of rain and wind. Innocent people that could be get hurt of Beryl decided to attack. She closed her eyes tightly, knowing that if anyone would get hurt, it would be her fault. 'I'm being so selfish...' In the deepness of her mind, a voice sooth her feeling, "Don't say that Sere, it's *my* fault. I wasn't the one that lead her into thinking that I loved her. I love you.' Serenity was shocked, as she knew whom that was. "How?" She mouth, as he smiled at her. She felt something inside of her, something deep and eternal. She felt him. 'It's something I posses. One of my powers that I have for being the prince of Earth and it is also apart of the bond that is being built into the both of us. Can you feel it love? Our heart is being entwined together... together we will defeat this evil.' Beryl couldn't but help feel jealous as she looked at Serenity and Endymion. Jealousy spitted out of her. She felt the power increase in both of them as they radiated with love... love for each other!! 'Why doesn't he look at me that way? Why does he smile like that to her, and kiss the way he does to her...?' She convinced to herself that it was just because of the spell. The spell she had cast upon her love. Red energy surrounds her as it gathered up into her arms. She then began to attack, as every one had left the scene already. The generals and the girls had informed the people around the area to escape silently, which they did as they were commanded too. A beam of light headed towards Serenity, as she ducked down as it headed off to a distance, fading away with the distance. "Beryl, there is another way from this. Don't do this. We shouldn't fight..." Beryl laughed at her, as she headed towards her. "There is *no* other way." With that, she swung her long tail around her as it began to squeeze her tightly. Serenity squirmed from her position, as she found it harder to breath, her mind spun as a flash of red flew at Beryl, cutting her deep. Beryl looked up, and was paralyzed in realization on who had just attacked her. "Endymion...? Why...?" Ger voice was broken, as she had let go of Serenity, who landed onto the ground softly, groaning. She felt her body relax from it's previous tense self. Endymion ran to her, taking her into his arms. Endymion looked up at the jealous figure, his eyes darkening at her. "Beryl, I will never forgive you if you ever hurt her again. I already told you why. You are just too stubborn. I love -Serenity-. I will always love Serenity. You can never change my mind about that. Fate had brought us together, and I don't think that you, out of all people, will be the one that tears us apart." Hurt and betrayed, Beryl seemed to back away from him, as each word seemed to stab into her. Serenity looked at him, as she smiled softly at him, showing him that she was alright. He held her tighter, not wanting to let her go. He helped her up, as the two looked at her. "Beryl, I cannot let you stay here and run loose to bring pain to others." Serenity said, as she raised her arms. "Gomen, but this is for the best." With that, she shot a silver beam at her, as Endymion lunged at her with his sword. Beryl fell. Endymion and Serenity looked at each other, their eyes meeting, as they were then surprise to hear laughter. Beryl was still alive. The darkness surrounding her had become more intense as Serenity felt a cold chill. "What?" "Did you think that death for me could be that easy? I'm so sorry dear Serenity," saying the sprite's name bitterly, "but I can't die just like that. Don't you see? Until the day I get Endymion, I will _never_ die." The sky around them seemed to get darker because of the dark clouds that appeared above them. The wind started to rustle the trees causing the leaves to hang barley onto the branches. Serenity took a deep breath. 'What are we to do Endymion?' 'We'll figure something out Serenity.' He had said trying to relax her as he held out his arm to her. "No matter what, I'll always love you." "And I to you." Beryl couldn't stand the sight in front of them, as she saw that the two were distracted. Gathering all her strength, she began straight towards Serenity, her claws stretched out to thrash at her. Serenity was still entranced with him and her mind was still reeling as Endymion looked away from her for a moment to see Serenity. His mind screamed as Serenity looked at him in confusion, feeling his indifferences. It was too late- everything was too late. He felt his body freeze as something came to his mind. There was only one way... One way... Her arm was raised into the air, preparing to swipe down at the Sprite. Just before she was going to sweep down, Endymion had took her place as Serenity fell to the ground. Endymion had taken her spot for death. Beryl gasped as she looked at her hands. Blood dripped from it and onto the ground. The blood... it was his. It was his blood. A gasp escaped her lips. "No... iie... Endymion... I didn't mean too..." An agonizing cry escaped from Serenity's lips as she scampered to him. She laid him onto her lap as his blood began to drip onto her silk dress. "Why Endymion?" She asked, as a river of tears began to form as it ran down her face. Rain began to fall as the cherry blossoms floated down onto the ground and the lake, covering it with a white and pink color. Endymion looked at her, his mystical blue eyes was filled with love. "Because I love you. I love you. I love you more than I ever that existed in my heart. And I'll love you until time ends." Serenity began to cry some more, looking lake precious crystals. "Don't leave me." She pleaded with him, as he shook his head. "I'm sorry Serenity, so sorry... But I'll always love you..." With that he careless her face a bit and smiled at her. His eyes began to drift off as tiredness came to him. His arm began lifeless as he closed his eyes. A painful sob escaped her lips as she exclaimed, "Endymion!!!" From the distance, a group of girls cried in the arms of their love. "Raye..." A blond said to the raven-haired girl. "Onegai, don't cry... I'll always be here for you." "You better," she said, behind her tears and crying. Jedite smiled, trying to sooth the feeling of loss and hopelessness. "You better count of it." Beryl's mind was going a mile a minute as the thought repeated in her mind. "I killed him, I killed him..." She felt tears come to her eyes as she pushed them back. 'Iie, I am not going to cry. It's not my fault; it's Serenity's. She poisoned his mind, she made him do that!!' Anger filled her once again, replacing the feeling of remorse. 'Its all her fault...' 'Not mine...' "It's all your fault!!" Beryl screeched out, as Serenity still embrace Endymion's lifeless body. She rocked the corps, tears still in her eyes. 'She should just kill me now.' She thought, knowing that without him she couldn't live. 'Iie, no, keep fighting Serenity...' 'Nani? Endymion?' Her eyes widen in surprise. 'How can this be?' 'Our bond. It's so strong that it keeps my soul from dying...' 'Endymion!' Her mind rejoices as tears of joy fell down her cheek. 'Come on, let's vanquish this evil.' 'But she can't die. Our attempts before didn't work...' Beryl's voice then interrupted her moment to herself. "Damn you Water Sprite, you are going to die for all the pain that you have caused!!" With that, she began to lunge at her, as Serenity moved away, leaving Endymion's body on the ground. "Beryl, I'm not going to let you do anymore damage." She exclaimed, as she began to head towards the lake. Beryl followed, mocking her. "You already tried that." Beryl said with a laugh. "And failed miserably too if I have to say so myself." Silver light began to surround the two as they came to the middle of the lake. The rain fell harder, bouncing off of the force filed that had surround them. Serenity then concentrated as Beryl looked around shocked. 'I'm to weak to do this alone...' 'Your never alone.' A gold light began to surround her, as it mingled with her silver aura. Endymion's soul had merged with her, trying to help her defeat this evil. 'Endymion...' 'I love you.' With that, she opened her eyes and looked at Beryl, neither pity of ruthlessness was in her eyes. "I, daughter of Selene, call upon the powers of the gods and the moons. With this power, I will banish you into the core of this lake where you would stay until you find understanding or until Endymion or I call you forth from this lake." With that, moonbeams began to surround her, as she screamed. She began to be pulled into the heart of the lake, as Serenity watched her leave in sorrow. All this because of love. Serenity began to return back to land as she walked back to Endymion's body, and held it to her. Her heart yearned to feel him touch her, to speak to her other than in her mind. Tears began to fall once again. 'I miss you.' She said, as she embraces his body. 'I'm right here.' 'It isn't the same. I miss holding you close, kissing you.' Something caught her eyes. It seemed to glitter with the rain that clung onto it. 'Don't...' His voice pleaded, but he knew that she wasn't going to listen. She picked up his sword that gleamed with so much comfort. 'Just one thrust and I can be with you...' With that she pre-pared to do so. "Good-bye my friends, mother..." She began to lunge the sword into her body as her friends protest against that. The sword was then throne into the lake by a force as she was shocked. She looked up to feel a powerful light in front of her, as a figure appeared. The man had wild hair that reached down to his shoulders. His eyes were full of wisdom and years, though he didn't seem that old. He looked friendly as he smiled at her. "My granddaughter, I had spoken to Hades, and I know that it is not time for you to go. You still have so many years in front of you." Serenity looked at him in shock as the others stared. "Gr- grandfather? Zeus?" She questioned, as he nodded, as he stepped off from the cloud that he stood on and onto the ground before her. She stood up from her place. "What...?" He smiled at her; he placed his hand on her shoulder. "Dear Serenity, it isn't your time. And it isn't his time either." With that, he raised his arm above Endymion, as glitter sprinkled down onto him. Golden light surrounded the body as a soft groan escaped his lips. He was alive. Joy filled her eyes as she embraced the king of gods, as he looked at her in surprise, and then content. Soon they pulled away from each other as he told her, "Good-bye my granddaughter," with that, he left, on his cloud he rode away. Serenity then scampered to where Endymion was, as he began to sit up. He looked at her, his eyes lingering onto her. "Love, you sure know a lot of people." She then hit him softly for that as he caught her wrist. "I love you Serenity." "And I love you." They kissed as the rain began to stop revealing the beautiful starlit sky. With that, they began to float into the air, waving good-bye to their friends. Together, they were going to build a new life on the moon. ~~~ "...and then you let go..." Epilogue You entered my life, Like a storm in a clear day, Catching me by surprise. Should I have known? That from the start, You were meant for me? I didn't understand, Why my heart beats fast, Whenever you entered the room. I wanted to believe, That I wasn't falling for you, But I already fell to deep. And I don't want to get up. ~~~ She looked around her; her home was in ruins! The fog of evil surrounded everything, as she searched about, calling out his name. "Endymion!" She searched for the man she loved, the one that had given up his kingdom to be with her. He refused to let her return to the moon by herself. "Endymion!" She cried out, as a faint voice called out to her. "Serenity." Her eyes widen, as she looked about. Tears streamed down her face. This evil was so strong... it killed so many... She bit back a sob and continued to look for her love. "Where are you Endymion?" She asked, as a figure from far away slowly limp towards her, she could feel the hot tears burn her skin. "Endymion? Are you alright?" She questioned, as she ran to him, holding him in her arms. He looked at her, caressing her hair with his hands. "I'm fine now that I know that you are safe." She buried her head in his chest. "The evil was so strong Endy, it's getting stronger!" Her voice was broken, as she could feel him slowly slip away from her. He was... dying. "Don't leave me Endy. I cannot live without you." He looked into her eyes, "Serenity, you cannot stop death. The gods have spoken; I have faced the truth already. I am just glad that I am in your arms in the last moment of my life." She held onto him, embracing him tighter. "You cannot leave me my love. I won't let you... please..." "I'm sorry Serenity, that is just something I cannot promise you." His voice was faint, as he smiled at her. "I am so happy that I found you. Many people search for their true love all their life, and rarely find that person. I am content that I found you and was able to spend so many wonderful years with you." She nodded, kissing his lips softly. "I love you." She told him, as he nodded. "And I will always love you..." "Forever..." he said it softly, as his eyes slowly closed, as he was gone, leaving her mourning over him. The evil around her had increased largely, as it was hard for her to breath. "Who are you?" She asked, as a figure stepped from the shadows, her dark hair falling down to the ground. "I am Metallia. I have notice your strength, your power for so long sprite. Submit to me and I will make sure that you are the strongest being." Serenity laugh, "What if I disagree?" "There is no if." The figure said, as Serenity grabbed Endymion's sword. "I rather not, Metallia, I will not submit to beings like you." With that she plunged the sword into herself, with a soft smile on her face. "Don't worry Endymion, you won't be alone for so long..." she fell down on top of Endymion, dead. Metallia's eyes looked at the two bodies that lied dead on the ground. A gasp came from behind her, as she saw the moon goddess herself. "Serenity!" She cried out to her daughter, anguished and filled with so much pain. "Your daughter killed herself, saying that she preferred death than submitting to evil." Metallia told the moon goddess whom grieved over her daughter. "I will destroy you," the moon goddess said determined, as she raised her hand up in the air, wielding energy. Her eyes flashed with fire as she sent a beam of energy toward Metallia. Metallia screamed out in pain, as she disappeared. The great fog of evil disappeared as her love dropped dead. Selene looked up at the sky, tears streaming down her face. "Oh Zeus, my father, please let them all live again. Save your granddaughter... Let them all live in happiness..." A light then surrounded the kingdom, as everyone disappeared, leaving the moon goddess alone in the ruins of the kingdom in tears.
